Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), has secured a seat on the Technical Management Board of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for the 2026-2028 term. This achievement underscores the organization's active role on the global stage.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this membership represents a strategic milestone for the Kingdom, enhancing its role in shaping the technical directions of the ISO. The move is expected to significantly contribute to the national quality infrastructure and support the growth and competitiveness of various economic sectors.
SASO affirmed that this achievement reflects international recognition of the Kingdom's growing global standing and its effective contributions to supporting international trade, enhancing product safety, and protecting consumer interests.
Established in 1947, the ISO is the global association of national standardization bodies, comprising over 160 members worldwide. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by SASO, became a member in 1972.
