Jakarta:Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group President Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser met with Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in Indonesia's healthcare sector.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the IsDB's support for Indonesia includes initiatives in maternal and child health, oncology services, and the national referral network. This collaboration will be further developed with the 2024 inauguration of specialized maternal and child health facilities at Dharmais Cancer Hospital and Persahabatan Hospital.
The discussions focused on the Strengthening Indonesia's Healthcare Referral Network (SIHREN) project, which is backed by £803.3 million in IsDB financing. The project aims to move from procurement to site readiness, equipment installation, and full operational rollout to expand access to advanced medical technologies.
Furthermore, the officials addressed the proposed TITANS project. This initiative seeks to upgrade four major university teaching hospitals into centers for specialized medical care and clinical education. The project is currently in the phase of financing discussions, statutory procedures, and awaiting final IsDB approval.
Dr. Al Jasser emphasized the bank's commitment to working closely with Indonesia's Ministry of Health to translate development financing into high-quality, accessible healthcare services across the nation.
