Islamic Arts Biennale Features Workshop on Ancient Meccan Calligraphy

Jeddah: As part of the public program of the Islamic Arts Biennale 2025, organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation at the Western Hajj Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, a workshop delved into the ancient history of Meccan calligraphy on Wednesday.

According to Saudi Press Agency, attendees had the opportunity to observe calligraphic inscriptions on ancient stones, examine copies of the holy Quran, and trace the evolution of Meccan calligraphy over time. Additionally, they engaged in hands-on practice of writing letters in Meccan calligraphy under the guidance of experts.
