The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance inaugurated today, through the religious attaché at the Saudi Embassy in the Philippines, the first specialized scientific course aimed at training and qualifying imams and preachers in Manila. The three-day course will benefit over 160 participants from among imams and mosque preachers, including female preachers. It is part of the ministry's continuous endeavor to promote religious moderation. The course is designed to strengthen the participants' knowledge of correct Islamic beliefs, and highlight the role of preachers in promoting moderation, rejecting extremism, and fostering a better understanding of Islamic teachings focused on tolerance, compassion, and nation building. The lectures, delivered by renowned scholars and preachers, will also emphasize the importance of countering fanaticism and extremism, and reinforce the importance of peace and coexistence in society.
