Riyadh: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance and the Islamic Sheikhdom of Montenegro signed the executive program for the memorandum of understanding (MoU) today at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh. The Acting Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs, Dr. Awad bin Sabti Al-Anazi, represented the Ministry during the signing. Vice President Omer Halil Kajshaj represented the sheikhdom from the Montenegro side. The program signed between the two sides includes holding scientific courses to qualify preachers, imams, and muezzins affiliated with the Islamic sheikhdom in Montenegro. These courses include introducing the tolerance of Islam and explaining its virtues, combating fanaticism and extremism, clarifying its position on contemporary issues, and providing the Islamic sheikhdom with copies of Publications of the King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran and translating its meanings, as well as providing it with the ministry's publications and books. The program is comprehensive and encompasses various activities. It includes exchanging invitations to attend Islamic seminars and conferences and as well as competitions for memorizing, reciting, and interpreting the Holy Quran held in the two countries. A significant part of the program involves holding a scientific meeting at the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran in Madinah to transfer the Kingdom's experiences in serving the Holy Quran and translating its meanings, in addition to arranging a visit to one of the imams of the Two Holy Mosques to visit Montenegro. The two sides agreed on the mechanism for implementing the programs per the regular procedures in the two countries and to follow up on what was agreed upon in this program through diplomatic channels. The signing of the MoU comes as an embodiment of the Kingdom's message to build bridges of cooperation with all countries to serve Islam and Muslims, spreading the principles of moderation, rejecting fanaticism and extremism, and confronting extremist groups .
