Makkah: Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Ministry's Hajj, Umrah and Visitation Affairs Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh has instructed the ministry's Makkah Region branch to reduce the waiting time between adhan (call to prayer) and iqamah (second call) at mosques during the Hajj season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the directive applies to all mosques frequented by pilgrims in Makkah, particularly those located in the central area and near the holy sites. The ministry specified that the waiting time between adhan and iqamah would be 15 minutes for Fajr, 10 minutes for Dhuhr and Asr, 5 minutes for Maghrib, and 10 minutes for Isha.
The purpose of this directive is to improve the worshippers' experience, enhance their comfort and focus, and help alleviate congestion in the central area and near the holy sites.
