The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) participated in the 112th meeting of the Ministers and Governors of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four (G-24) on International Monetary Affairs and Development, held during the 2024 annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) in Washington, D.C. IsDB Director of Monetary Affairs Anasse Aissami affirmed the bank's viewpoints regarding the global economy, focusing on improving access to finance and building capacity for weak economies, addressing debt crises in emerging markets, and enhancing collaborative efforts on climate initiatives. Aissami pointed out that focusing on the future should not come at the expense of addressing current challenges, given the significant issues facing some emerging-market economies and developing economies.
