Seville: The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group organized a panel discussion titled 'Financing the Future: Resilience, Reconstruction, and Innovative Financing in Fragile Contexts,' featuring participation from Somalia and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). This discussion took place on the sidelines of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development.

According to Saudi Press Agency, IsDB Group President Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser emphasized the critical need for adopting flexible and inclusive financing methods. These approaches are necessary to withstand risks and bridge the gap between immediate humanitarian relief and long-term reconstruction. The focus is particularly on infrastructure, institutions, and livelihoods.

Participants in the panel stressed the urgency of implementing risk-tolerant financing strategies to address the impacts of climate change and aid the transition from relief to sustainable recovery. The importance of empowering local communities and enabling institutions to break cycles of recurring crises while building sustainable resilience was also highlighted. Additionally, the need for sustained advocacy, stronger partnerships, and alignment with local priorities was underscored. These efforts should be supported by adaptable financing models that can respond to evolving challenges.
