Seville: The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group is actively participating in the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, currently being held in Seville, Spain. From June 30 to July 3, the event gathers world leaders, multilateral institutions, and development partners with the aim of addressing pressing financing challenges that jeopardize the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
According to Saudi Press Agency, the IsDB Group is organizing two strategic side sessions during the conference. These sessions are in collaboration with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Government of Senegal. The first session is dedicated to developing innovative Islamic finance solutions that serve as reliable alternatives to conventional debt models. The second session will delve into adaptive and risk-tolerant financing strategies designed to support recovery and resilience.
These sessions contribute significantly to the global dialogue on inclusive financing frameworks that are aligned with the SDGs and tailored to the needs of vulnerable countries. They underscore IsDB's commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable development, boosting international cooperation, and shaping the evolving global financial landscape.
Additionally, the IsDB Group is participating in plenary sessions, multilateral roundtable discussions, and bilateral meetings with international partners. These engagements cover topics such as Islamic finance and sukuk, resilience in fragile settings, reform of multilateral development banks, climate finance, and infrastructure investment.
