Algiers: The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), acting as the trustee of the Global Islamic Fund for Refugees (GIFR), has signed a significant contribution agreement with Islamic Relief USA. The agreement aims to further GIFR's mission of delivering sustainable aid and empowering refugees and displaced persons across the globe.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the new contribution agreement was signed during the IsDB Group annual meetings in Algeria. This development marks a continuation of the growing momentum for GIFR, which has successfully secured commitments amounting to $110 million. This includes $50 million from the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), $50 million from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and $10 million from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).
With the signing of this contribution, Islamic Relief USA joins the GIFR steering committee. This committee plays a crucial role in reviewing, approving, and allocating funding for projects that serve forcibly displaced persons and their host communities within the member countries of the IsDB.
