Iran Explores Economic and Aviation Deals with US Amid Nuclear Talks

Iran: An Iranian diplomat said on Sunday, days before a second round of talks between Tehran and Washington, that his country seeks a nuclear agreement with the United States that would bring economic benefits to both sides, according to Sky News Arabia.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the two countries resumed negotiations earlier this month to address their decades-long dispute, particularly over Iran's nuclear program, with the aim of averting a new military confrontation. The United States has sent a second aircraft carrier to the region and is preparing for the possibility of a large-scale military campaign if talks fail.

Fars News Agency quoted Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Hamid Ghanbari as saying: "To ensure the sustainability of the agreement, it is necessary for America to also benefit in areas with high and rapid economic returns."

Although Tehran has threatened to retaliate against any American attack, the Iranian official adopted a conciliatory tone, emphasizing the potential for mutually beneficial agreements in energy, mining, and aircraft sectors.
