Interior Minister Reviews New Pilgrim-Focused Development Projects at Holy Sites

Makkah: Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz inspected several development projects at the holy sites on Saturday, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance facilities for pilgrims.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Abdulaziz reviewed several new development projects implemented this year, 1446 AH, to serve the pilgrims. One of the key projects is the second phase of the Mashaer pathway, which features pedestrian routes with environmentally friendly rubber flooring designed to ease movement, improve crowd management, and reduce heat stress.

During his tour, Prince Abdulaziz also visited Namirah Mosque, where he examined the shading and cooling project for the surrounding courtyards. This initiative aims to moderate the climate, thereby reducing heat stress and enabling pilgrims to perform prayers with greater ease and tranquility.

Additionally, Prince Abdulaziz inaugurated a new emergency hospital in Mina, which is expected to enhance medical readiness and emergency capacity to serve pilgrims according to the highest medical standards. The facility is designed to provide urgent medical care with high efficiency.

The minister of interior was accompanied by several princes and officials throughout the tour.
