Ohio: The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources concluded its participation in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2025), held in the US state of Ohio, by strategically sponsoring students competing in the leadership in energy and industry track, reflecting its commitment to supporting young talents and empowering innovative solutions in the industrial and mining sectors.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative highlights the ministry's dedication to fostering industrial innovation, supporting inventors, and developing national human resources, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Industrial Strategy, which focuses on leveraging innovation and knowledge to strengthen the competitiveness of Saudi industry.
A total of 11 students participated in the leadership in energy and industry track with innovative projects in materials science, chemistry, and energy. Of these, seven students won nine major international and special awards. Their innovations included an industrial catalyst for white hydrogen production, an acrylic coating to enhance solar cell performance, a system to produce hydrogen from seawater, a hydrogen gas detector to improve industrial safety, lead-free solar cells, and an eco-friendly battery made from construction waste.
The ministry's sponsorship included a comprehensive package of talent-support initiatives, such as specialized training courses in industry and mining through an advanced enrichment program, meetings with ministry leaders and CEOs of major industrial companies, and field visits to national factories, providing participants with firsthand exposure to the industrial work environment.
