Riyadh: The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced the establishment of the non-profit mining association. The association will focus on providing an integrated training environment to develop the skills of professionals in the mining sector, enhance the quality of technical operations, and promote regulatory sustainability in the industry.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative also aims to ensure the adoption of the highest standards of governance and transparency, in line with the ministry's efforts to empower non-profit organizations in the industrial and mining sectors and recognize their role in supporting the Kingdom's economic and social development.
The association's objectives include developing knowledge capacities, creating education and training programs, establishing a professional code of ethics for geological and mining practitioners, organizing awareness workshops, preparing specialized research and studies, and participating in local and international conferences related to mining.
It also seeks to contribute to updating reporting and disclosure standards on mineral resources and reserves, granting professional competency certifications in geology and mining to its members, and enabling them to acquire the skills required to assess mineral wealth.
