Riyadh: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef will inaugurate Sunday the 12th International Topical Meeting on Industrial Radiation and Radioisotope Measurement Applications. The event, organized by the College of Applied Medical Sciences at King Saud University in collaboration with the university's standing committee on radiation protection, will be held at Sheikh Hamad Al-Jasser Hall on the university campus and run for five days.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference will address the latest scientific developments in medical and industrial radiation, bringing together scientists and technology developers to devise solutions for challenges in the industrial and medical sectors. It will feature research and innovations from Saudi and international researchers, enrich knowledge by publishing high-quality scientific outputs in a journal ranked among the top 10% in its field, and enhance regional and international collaboration.
Over 500 researchers from Saudi Arabia and abroad are expected to attend, alongside discussions on the role of artificial intelligence in advancing radiation applications in the industrial and medical sectors.
The conference aims to foster international and regional cooperation, advance research and innovation, attract investments, and address safety and security issues using radiation and radioisotopes.
The event will host over 30 government and international entities, participants from more than 40 countries, 500 researchers, 20 global experts, and over 100 lecturers. The program will include workshops and training courses, while the accompanying exhibition will feature 25 specialized pavilions.
