Industry Minister Opens Saudi International Iron and Steel Conference

Riyadh: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef inaugurated the 3rd annual Saudi International Iron and Steel Conference, organized by the Federation for Saudi Chambers of Commerce in Riyadh under the ministry's patronage. Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel Al-Wazir attended the opening ceremony, along with a distinguished group of decision-makers, experts, and investors in the vital sector.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in his opening remarks, Alkhorayef highlighted the significant progress witnessed by the iron and steel industry in Saudi Arabia in line with the objectives of Vision 2030. He underscored the importance of fostering dialogue on the sector's future and building effective partnerships to support its growth and sustainability.

The minister also highlighted the National Steel Sector Restructuring Plan, affirming that it enhances the iron sector's competitiveness and increases its attractiveness to both local and international investments.

The conference is taking place at Arena Riyadh Venue until October 16. It brings together representatives from more than 35 countries, as well as major international iron and steel companies and investors to discuss the future of the industry and its pivotal role in achieving Saudi Vision 2030 targets.
