Makkah: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and Chairman of the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) Bandar Alkhorayef concluded a two-day field visit to Makkah Region to inspect the industrial and logistical readiness for the Hajj season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the minister emphasized that national industry is now a key partner in serving pilgrims by providing essential food, pharmaceuticals, and supplies, leveraging Makkah's base of eight industrial cities and over 2,700 factories.
Alkhorayef visited several major facilities in Jeddah's First Industrial City and Makkah's Second Industrial City. He also reviewed MODON's seasonal service system, which includes over 735,000 square meters of temporary areas for catering, storage, and pilgrim support.
These efforts are bolstered by the Jeddah Food Cluster, a strategic pillar launched in 2024 to strengthen food security and position the Kingdom as a regional industrial hub in line with Vision 2030.
