Indonesian Resident Arrested for Hajj Fraud in Makkah

Makkah: Security patrols in Makkah have apprehended an Indonesian resident accused of committing fraud through social media advertisements for fake Hajj campaigns. The fraudulent ads falsely promised accommodation and transportation services for Hajj pilgrims within the holy sites.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the resident has been arrested and legal proceedings have been initiated. The individual has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further action.

Public security officials have issued a call to action for all citizens and residents, emphasizing the importance of adhering to Hajj regulations and guidelines. They also urge the public to report any violations by contacting (911) from Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region, or (999) from other areas within the Kingdom.
