India keen on cooperating with Egypt in economic, security fields: FM to President Sisi

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met Tuesday with Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar stressing Egypt’s keenness on “consolidating and deepening the extended strategic partnership with India, which is essential to preserving security and stability in the Middle East.”

The president also said he looked forward to expanding coordination and consultation with the Indian side on political, security, and economic affairs of mutual concern in the coming period.

On his side, the Indian minister of external affairs welcomed the president’s visit to New Delhi, affirming that it would contribute to supporting bilateral ties, especially in the framework of India’s eagerness for reinforcing cooperation with Egypt in the economic, investment, security, and military fields.

President Sisi headed Tuesday to New Delhi fulfilling the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a guest of honor in the ceremony held to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the country’s Republic Day marking January 26.
