IMCTC Secretary General Meets Mali’s Chief of General Staff

Bamako: Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Major General Pilot Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi met with Major General Oumar Diarra, the chief of general staff of the Mali Armed Forces, in the Malian capital, Bamako. The meeting occurred as part of the IMCTC delegation's visit to Mali, focusing on launching a strategic initiative to combat terrorism financing, targeting Sahel countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting addressed cooperation aspects and reviewed key challenges facing countries in the region amid rising terrorist threats. The discussions explored ways to address these challenges through coordinated efforts and enhanced collaboration.

The IMCTC secretary-general highlighted that the Sahel program is supported by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It targets countries heavily impacted by terrorism through specialized initiatives and projects aimed at capacity building and enhancing regional coordination in countering extremism and terrorism.
