Nouakchott: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), in collaboration with the Mauritanian Ministry of Defense, is set to launch a specialized training course in Nouakchott from May 26 to 30. The course, titled 'Capacity Building for the Development of Counter-Terrorism Strategies,' is part of IMCTC's regional initiative to bolster the capabilities of Sahel countries.

The training emphasizes improving strategic analysis, enhancing legislative and regulatory frameworks, and formulating practical action plans that encourage coordination across security, justice, and institutional sectors.
This initiative aligns with IMCTC's broader goal of aiding member states in constructing adaptable and resilient institutional frameworks to effectively tackle security challenges. Additionally, it seeks to improve strategic planning, evaluation, and monitoring capabilities, while fostering regional and international partnerships based on scientific and practical methodologies tailored to national contexts and regional dynamics.
The course underscores IMCTC's ongoing dedication to supporting sustainable, comprehensive, and locally adapted responses to the evolving threat of terrorism throughout the Sahel region.
