Riyadh: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs in Mali, is set to launch a new regional initiative this Thursday in Bamako, Mali. The initiative aims to strengthen national capabilities to combat terrorist financing and money laundering in the Sahel region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative will feature a scientific lecture and a specialized workshop, forming part of IMCTC's broader strategic program tailored to the specific needs of Sahel countries. It seeks to enhance the expertise of security, military, and regulatory personnel by equipping them with advanced tools for financial investigations and facilitating the exchange of knowledge with relevant authorities.

This effort underscores the coalition's commitment to supporting member states in developing robust national mechanisms to combat terrorism financing. It also reflects IMCTC's comprehensive approach to countering non-traditional threats by integrating intellectual, media, and financial strategies.

By bolstering the capacities of Sahel nations, the initiative contributes to regional security and stability, aligning with IMCTC's mission to unify and coordinate efforts in the fight against terrorism across its member countries.
