Riyadh: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has launched a specialized media program at its headquarters in Riyadh, focused on analyzing extremist discourse and hate speech in digital media and featuring tools and techniques for smart counteraction, with the participation of 13 representatives from Palestinian media and academic institutions.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative aims to enhance media capacities and professional competencies in countering extremism by equipping media professionals with the skills to analyze digital discourse, combat misinformation, and use verification tools to address extremist content and hate speech.
Over five days, the program will cover topics such as smart counteraction strategies against digital extremism, discourse analysis tools for social media, and early detection techniques for identifying extremist messages.
IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi stated that the initiative supports the coalition’s vision of using media to prevent terrorism and combat extremist ideology. He emphasized the importance of empowering media professionals to effectively address hate and misinformation.
These efforts reflect IMCTC’s commitment to supporting member states in confronting extremist ideologies while promoting moderation, centrism, and peaceful coexistence.
