Head of the Earth System Model Evaluation and Analysis Department at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Veronika Eyring said that curbing emissions will keep global warming at 1.5°C; on the other hand, if the emissions keep rising, global warming would exceed 3°C.
“We have to change our ways of transportation, and living…Otherwise, we’re risking the planet’s health and prosperity,” Eyring asserted at the opening session of COP 27 in Sharm El Sheikh.
Former U.S. President and Nobel Laureate Al Gore similarly highlighted that pollution has reached outer space so as tons of waste have been detected there. He added that millions of people die because of pollution, stressing that humanity now has to choose between life and death.
