ICESCO, IOFS to Boost Cooperation in Food Security, Sustainable Development

Astana: The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during a meeting Thursday in the Kazakh capital, Astana.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU aims to enhance cooperation in agriculture, food security, sustainable development, and innovation in resource management, Rabat-based ICESCO said in a statement. The agreement includes establishing joint programs and projects to support ICESCO member states through the exchange of expertise and the development of initiatives focused on enhancing food security.

The partnership will also work on enhancing national capacities in utilizing advanced technologies in agriculture and natural resource management, as well as conducting joint research in agricultural technology. ICESCO Director-General Dr. Salim AlMalik signed the MoU with IOFS Director-General Berik Aryn.
