Montreal: The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) honored the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Cooperative Aviation Security Program - Middle East (CASP-MID) Chair Mohammed Alfozan, during the 42nd session of the ICAO Assembly held in Montreal, Canada, from September 23 to October 3. The event was attended by Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Saleh Al-Jasser and GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom received this recognition for its efforts in managing CASP-MID and enhancing regional capabilities in aviation security. This accolade highlights Saudi Arabia's role in supporting UN programs and international initiatives, aimed at strengthening civil aviation security and ensuring member states are not left behind.
Since the program's establishment in the Kingdom, CASP-MID has seen substantial growth, with activities increasing by over 300%. It has successfully trained 2,600 individuals, implemented more than 120 specialized activities, and extended services to 12 regional countries.
