Hurricane Karina Intensifies to Category Three

Riyadh: Hurricane Karina rapidly intensified into a Category Three hurricane in the Pacific Ocean, with maximum winds reaching about 125 mph (205 km/h). The National Hurricane Center reported that Karina reached hurricane strength on Sunday before escalating to Category Three within hours. It continues to move away from coastal areas and poses no direct threat to land.

According to Saudi Press Agency, although Karina is forecast to remain away from land, meteorologists warned that it could generate dangerous surf along the southwestern coast of the United Mexican States and the Baja California Peninsula.
