The death toll from Hurricane Helene, which hit the southeast coast of the US, has risen to at least 159 people. According to ABC News today, the victims were from the states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. It also reported that the largest toll was recorded in the Buncombe County, North Carolina, where 57 people lost their lives. More than 1.4 million people are still experiencing power outages in the affected states.
