Hungarian president: Egypt most important economic, strategic partner in Arab world

Hungarian President János Áder said on Tuesday 12/10/2021 Egypt is the most important economic and strategic partner of Hungary in the Arab world, describing it as a linchpin of stability in the region.

In a press conference with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Áder noted that he met with Sisi a couple of years ago and their meeting today was a good opportunity to continue one-on-one discussions on several issues of mutual concern.

Áder pointed out that he appreciates President Sisi’s efforts in resolving the recent flare-up in the Gaza Strip, stressing Egypt had played a great role in this regard and was able to calm down the situation in a short period of time.

The Hungarian president said he discussed with Sisi strengthening cooperation in water domains, pointing out that Hungary’s history of cooperation with Egypt dates back to 1926.
