Riyadh: President of the National Society for Human Rights Khalid Alfakhri said legislative and institutional developments in the Kingdom in recent years have strengthened the protection of women's rights and expanded their participation across various fields. He noted that these efforts are part of an ongoing path to develop the human rights system and reinforce related legal guarantees.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement marking International Women's Day on March 8, Alfakhri said legislative updates, national programs, and institutional initiatives in the Kingdom reflect growing attention to protecting rights and strengthening the principles of justice and equal opportunities. He added that these efforts support women's participation in development and enhance their presence across multiple sectors.
Alfakhri also said the National Society for Human Rights, as an independent national institution dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights, closely monitors developments related to women's rights. The society works to raise awareness of rights and support initiatives that empower women and enhance their participation in society as part of its role in monitoring the human rights landscape and contributing to the development of related practices.
