Human Rights Commission President Meets OIC Human Rights Director for Strengthening Collaboration

Jeddah: Human Rights Commission President Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri met at her office with recently appointed Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) Executive Director Dr. Hadi Al-Yami.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the meeting, the officials discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Human Rights Commission and the IPHRC, as well as mechanisms to support human-rights issues.

Dr. Al-Tuwaijri commended the efforts of the IPHRC in monitoring human-rights commitments, addressing human-rights issues in member states, supporting intercultural dialogue, and advancing other human-rights matters.

Dr. Al-Yami highlighted the significant role played by the Kingdom in supporting the work of the IPHRC since its establishment, noting its commitment to promoting the values of human dignity, justice, and human rights in the Islamic world.

He also pointed to the provision of its headquarters in Jeddah and the creation of all necessary conditions for its operations, reflecting the leadership's keenness to enable the IPHRC to fulfill its mission and strengthen its regional and international presence.
