Riyadh: Under the patronage of the Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed Al-Rajhi, has officially launched the Volunteer Work License and inaugurated the Non-Profit Labor Observatory dedicated to serving pilgrims.
According to Saudi Press Agency, these initiatives are designed to fortify the non-profit sector by providing training for volunteers, enhancing organizational performance, and encouraging social innovation. These efforts are intended to support the sector's sustainability while increasing its contribution to the national economy.
The announcement was made during the opening of the third edition of this year's International Non-Profit Sector Exhibition, "IENA," which also features the Social Investment Forum and the Gulf Non-Profit Sector Forum.
The exhibition serves as a platform to underscore the non-profit sector's pivotal role as a strategic partner in promoting sustainable development. It aims to empower individuals, expand the number of organizations in critical areas, and work towards increasing the sector's gross domestic product (GDP) contribution to 5% by the year 2030.
