HRH the Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session in Riyadh


Riyadh: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held in Riyadh today. HRH the Crown Prince expressed his gratitude to leaders of brotherly and friendly countries for their sincere feelings towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of its 95th National Day, attributing the nation’s stability, prosperity, and progress to divine blessings.



According to Saudi Press Agency, the Cabinet reviewed the current state of affairs, focusing on strengthening international relations. It acknowledged the positive outcomes of Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s visit, particularly the signing of the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement aimed at enhancing regional security.



In a statement, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary highlighted the Cabinet’s appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s active participation in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, reflecting the Kingdom’s stature and leadership in global affairs. The Cabinet also emphasized efforts to increase international recognition of the State of Palestine, underscoring the importance of Palestinian self-determination.



The Cabinet welcomed the US administration’s plan, led by President Donald Trump, to address the conflict in the Gaza Strip and facilitate humanitarian aid delivery. It expressed readiness to cooperate with the US to achieve a comprehensive agreement for peace, based on the two-state solution with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital.



The minister pointed out the Cabinet’s appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s election to the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), highlighting the Kingdom’s leadership in these fields.



Furthermore, the Cabinet acknowledged the inclusion of the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve in UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme, demonstrating the Kingdom’s commitment to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.



The Cabinet praised the Global Infrastructure Forum held in Riyadh, which saw extensive international participation and agreements to foster sustainability in infrastructure, enhancing quality of life and urban development.



In the water sector, the Cabinet discussed projects in the Eastern Region with investments exceeding SAR28.8 billion, aiming to achieve environmental and water sustainability.



The Cabinet concluded with several decisions, including authorizations for memoranda of understanding with Somalia and Korea, an investment agreement with Morocco, and a cooperation agreement with ICESCO. Additionally, the Tourism Development Fund joined the World Tourism Organization as an associate member, and the minister of finance was authorized to license Easy Bank.
