HRH Crown Prince Unveils ‘King Salman Gate’ Project in Makkah

Makkah: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of RUA AlHaram AlMakki Company, has announced the launch of the King Salman Gate project, a transformative multi-use development in Makkah. The project, strategically positioned adjacent to the Grand Mosque, spans up to 12 million square meters in gross floor area, marking a significant milestone in the development of Makkah and its central area.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the King Salman Gate project aims to enhance access to the Grand Mosque, elevate service quality, and enrich the visitor experience in line with the Pilgrim Experience Program goals. The development will incorporate residential, hospitality, commercial, and cultural experiences while offering capacity for around 900,000 indoor and outdoor praying spaces.

The integrated mixed-use destination will ensure easy access and comfort with its connection to public transportation networks. The project will honor Makkah's identity by blending its rich architectural heritage with modern living, creating a unique experience for visitors. It will also restore and develop approximately 19,000 square meters of heritage sites, preserving Makkah's cultural and historical legacy. Furthermore, the project is expected to contribute to Saudi Vision 2030 by generating over 300,000 jobs by 2036.
