Hot Weather, Gusty Winds Expected for Holy Sites during Hajj

General

Mecca: The National Center for Meteorology forecast hot to extremely hot weather conditions at the holy sites during this year's Hajj season 1446 AH. Maximum temperatures will range from 40°C to 47°C, while minimum temperatures will vary from 27°C to 32°C. Humidity levels are expected to fluctuate between 15% and 60%.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the center's CEO Dr. Ayman Ghulam stated that winds during the Hajj season are expected to be northerly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 25-35 km/h. These winds may stir up dust, potentially reducing horizontal visibility, particularly in open areas and along highways.

Additionally, there is a chance of thunderstorm formation over the highlands of Taif, which could impact the holy sites between Dhu al-Hijjah 8 and 13. These storms may be accompanied by strong downdrafts, leading to further dispersion of dust and sand.
