Holy Makkah Municipality Expands Volunteer Initiatives During Final Ten Days of Ramadan

Makkah: During the last ten days of Ramadan, the Holy Makkah Municipality is increasing its volunteer initiatives, which aim to enhance services for Umrah performers and worshippers at the Grand Mosque.

According to Saudi Press Agency, one key initiative is providing 300,000 meals through the 'Support of the Two Holy Mosques' program, in partnership with the Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Waqf and 400 volunteers. It aims to improve the experience of worshippers performing their rituals and promote a culture of giving. The initiative also emphasizes Islamic values of hospitality and generosity, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to serving visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.

Volunteers from various community groups are participating, providing guidance, supporting sanitation efforts, and managing pedestrian flow around the Grand Mosque. Additionally, iftar and suhoor meals are being offered to those fasting, in collaboration with charities and relevant authorities, embodying social solidarity and generosity.

The municipality emphasized that these efforts align with its vision to promote volunteerism, consistent with Vision 2030's goals of enhancing services for Umrah performers. It praised the volunteers' significant contributions and their pivotal role in the initiatives' success.

The volunteer programs will continue until the end of Ramadan, with intensified efforts during these blessed days to ensure the comfort and safety of visitors and pilgrims, enabling them to perform their worship in a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling environment.
