Jeddah: The charitable society for families working in the cottage industry in Makkah Region, known as Monteja, has launched the ‘Sales Outlets’ initiative to support producer families in Historic Jeddah. This initiative aims to provide these families with equipped booths to showcase their products, empowering them towards self-sufficiency and establishing a sustainable source of income.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Monteja Chairman Essam Al-Basrawi announced that the first phase of the initiative includes twenty families. Plans for future expansion are already in place to increase the number of outlets and their locations within the Jeddah Governorate.

Monteja Executive Director Maram Hameed Al-Deen acknowledged the significant support from the Ministry of Culture and the Historic Jeddah program, which facilitated the successful launch of the initiative. She highlighted Monteja’s goal to reach a broader segment of its registered members, which currently includes over 7,000 families engaged in the cottage industry in Jeddah.
