Egypt has published 258 coronavirus-related scientific research papers, making it the most Arab country with published studies in this field, according to the US National Library of Medicine.
In a report, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed studies and research papers compiled by Egyptian scientists and researchers in the field of Covid-19 in the internationally-indexed journals.
The report showed that Egyptian researchers published 1,355 scientific research papers in the field of Covid-19 in the globally-indexed journals on the global Scival platform during the pandemic period.
Meanwhile, the minister pointed out that Egyptian scientists were able to produce the first homemade coronavirus vaccine (COVI-VAX), stressing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s keenness on producing vaccines for epidemic viruses to preserve the health and safety of citizens.
