Al-rass: The Heritage Iftar event held yesterday at Jediyah Historical Castle in Al-Rass Governorate, Qassim Region, revived the features of the traditional Ramadan table under the glow of heritage lanterns and the aroma of Arabic coffee. The event was attended by residents, visitors, and heritage enthusiasts.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the gathering recreated the social atmosphere of past Ramadans, highlighting iftar customs and the values of solidarity and cohesion among community members, reflecting interest in preserving local heritage.
The event featured a traditional communal spread representing the Ramadan table of Qassim Region. Dishes known in the region were served alongside dates, Arabic coffee, traditional sweets, and beverages historically associated with Ramadan.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Khaled Al-Jedei said the heritage iftar has become a social tradition that reflects cooperation and solidarity within the community while introducing younger generations to authentic Ramadan customs.
He added that the event not only revives the traditional table but also highlights values such as sharing, solidarity, and respect for elders. The participation of children and youth demonstrates the community's commitment to passing on its heritage in ways that strengthen identity and belonging.
Al-Jedei noted that hosting the event at Jediyah Historical Castle adds a historical dimension, allowing visitors to experience the combination of the heritage site, the traditional table, and the Ramadan atmosphere.
