Heritage Commission Concludes Al-Bisht Al-Hasawi Festival

Al-hofuf: On Saturday, the Heritage Commission concluded the third edition of Al-Bisht Al-Hasawi Festival, held in Al-Hofuf. This year's festival attracted thousands of visitors from across the Gulf and the Arab world, underscoring the bisht's value as a garment deeply rooted in the region's cultural heritage and closely tied to social life.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this edition of the festival coincided with a series of arrangements marking the national achievement of the bisht's official inscription on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The festival showcased the depth of traditional crafts for which Al-Ahsa Governorate has been renowned since ancient times, highlighting the skills of families who have passed down the art of bisht weaving from generation to generation.
