Henna Designs Adorn Hands of Female Pilgrims on Journey from Morocco to Makkah

Rabat: Moroccan culture has inherited social traditions associated with the Hajj season, most notably henna decoration for female pilgrims benefiting from the Makkah Route Initiative at Rabat-Sal© International Airport before their departure to Makkah, as an expression of joy and preparation for the Hajj journey.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in the lounge designated for the initiative, Moroccan female pilgrims have their henna designs applied before completing travel procedures, within the digital organizational system provided by the initiative to facilitate pilgrims’ journeys from the earliest stages of departure.

The initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Interior in coordination with relevant government ministries and authorities, with stc as digital partner. Since its 2017 inception, the initiative has served more than 1.25 million pilgrims.
