Helix Nebula Observed in Rafha Skies


Rafha: The Helix Nebula was observed and captured in high resolution in the skies of Rafha Governorate, located in the Northern Borders Region, using advanced astronomical techniques. The observation highlights the skill and dedication of astrophotographers in documenting cosmic phenomena and exploring the mysteries of space.



According to Saudi Press Agency, member of the Afaq Society for Astronomy, Berjis Al-Fulaih, explained that the Helix Nebula, scientifically known as NGC 7293, is one of the closest and brightest planetary nebulae to Earth, situated approximately 700 light-years away in the constellation Aquarius. He emphasized that astronomical events offer far more than captivating views; they also deepen scientific understanding of the universe.



The skies over Rafha are among the clearest and darkest, providing an exceptional environment for observing celestial objects and exploring the vastness and beauty of the cosmos.
