Jeddah: Weather conditions across several regions in Saudi Arabia are expected to become severe on Sunday as moderate to heavy rain is likely to cause flash floods, along with hail, in parts of Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, and Makkah. Thunderclouds are forecasted to form over areas including Najran, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, and Madinah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, gusty winds capable of stirring dust will affect these regions, as well as parts of Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and Northern Borders. In the Eastern Region, temperatures will rise to hot and extremely hot levels.
Winds over the Red Sea will vary in direction and intensity, with westerly to northwesterly winds reaching speeds of 15-40 km/h in the northern and central parts, and southwesterly to northwesterly winds hitting 10-50 km/h in the southern part. Sea conditions will range from calm to choppy, with wave heights from half a meter to over two meters.
In contrast, the Arabian Gulf will see southwesterly to northwesterly winds in the northern and central parts, shifting at night to southeasterly to southwesterly. In the southern part, winds will be southerly, changing in the afternoon to northwesterly to southwesterly at speeds of 10-28 km/h. Waves are expected to range from half a meter to one meter, maintaining calm sea conditions.
