Heavy Rain and Flash Floods Expected in Saudi Arabia

Jeddah: The National Center for Meteorology has issued a forecast predicting heavy rain that could lead to flash floods, accompanied by hail and dust-stirring winds, in the Jazan, Aseer, and Al-Baha regions. Moderate to heavy rain is also expected to affect the Makkah, Madinah, and Najran regions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, light to moderate rain and gusty winds are anticipated in parts of the Eastern, Riyadh, and Tabuk regions. Wind patterns over the Red Sea will vary, with northwesterly to northerly winds in the northern part and southeasterly to southwesterly winds in the central and southern parts, reaching speeds of 25-55 km/h. The sea conditions will range from calm to choppy, with waves between one meter and over two and a half meters.

In the Arabian Gulf, northwesterly to northerly winds are expected in the northern part, while easterly to southeasterly winds will prevail in the central and southern areas, with speeds of 15-35 km/h. Wave heights will range from half a meter to one and a half meters, resulting in relatively calm sea conditions.
