Health Minister Meets with Indonesian Counterpart, Witnesses Signing of Cooperation MoUs

Jakarta: Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel, who is on an official visit to Indonesia, and Minister of Health of Indonesia Budi Gunadi Sadikin held a meeting in Jakarta today to discuss healthcare cooperation, investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry and medical equipment, and enhancing medical services provided to Indonesian pilgrims and Umrah performers, driven by the Health Transformation Program’s aims of enhancing the efficiency and quality of health services across the Kingdom and to improve the Hajj and Umrah experience for visitors.



According to Saudi Press Agency, the two ministers shared best practices and experiences in hospital management and primary healthcare, drawing on Saudi Arabia’s expertise in digital health transformation and the use of AI for disease diagnosis and hospital management.



They also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Health Holding Company and the Indonesian Ministry of Health for collaboration in healthcare. The MoU was signed by the Health Holding Company CEO Nasser Al-Haqbani and Director General of Health Human Resources at the Indonesian Ministry of Health Yuli Varianti.



Al-Jalajel said: ‘This agreement builds upon previous collaborations between our two nations. I am pleased to see this commitment to advancing healthcare standards and improving medical services for citizens and pilgrims alike.’



The Health Holding Company also signed an MoU with the University of Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya to strengthen collaboration in training Indonesian healthcare professionals, aiming to support the Kingdom’s healthcare sector. The MoU was signed by Al-Haqbani and Nahdlatul Ulama University President Professor Ahmed Yazidi, and the signing was attended by Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Faisal Al-Amoudi, along with several officials from the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.



These endeavors are part of the Ministry of Health’s ongoing efforts to enhance international cooperation in the healthcare sector and expand global strategic partnerships, contributing to the development and efficiency of medical services in the Kingdom.
