Hajj Networks in Makkah Handle Over 18 Million Calls on Day of Arafah

Makkah: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CSTC) announced today the robust performance of telecommunications networks in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and the holy sites on the Day of Arafah, which fell on the ninth of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH. The total number of calls made on this day amounted to 18.3 million, comprising 15.9 million local calls and 2.4 million international calls.

According to Saudi Press Agency, mobile internet indicators demonstrated significant activity, with the average mobile internet speed reaching 288 megabits per second. This represents a 15% increase compared to the same day last year. Furthermore, the average daily data consumption per person reached 1278 megabytes, surpassing the global consumption rate by 29 units.

The communications and technology sector effectively accommodates the high consumption demands while maintaining quality standards that align with leadership aspirations. The sector ensures high download speeds and the smooth transmission of both local and international calls, facilitating communication for the Guests of God.
