Hajj Conference and Exhibition Hosts Session on Climate Forecasting at Holy Sites

Riyadh: The Hajj Conference and Exhibition 1447 AH: organized a session centered around climate forecasting in the holy sites, hosting National Center for Meteorology (NCM) Chief Executive Ayman Ghulam. During the session, Ghulam outlined the center's efforts to support the Hajj system through accurate weather forecasts, continuous monitoring, and high preparedness to respond to weather changes during the Hajj season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Ghulam noted that the NCM is developing the climate forecasting and early warning system in Makkah and the holy sites, leveraging advanced technologies, satellites, and numerical prediction models. The system enables climate risk management and implementation of proactive measures to ensure the safety of pilgrims.

The NCM manages and operates a national network of meteorological stations, satellites, and modern radars; conducts studies and research in meteorology and climate; and develops remote sensing technologies and numerical forecasting models.
