Al-baha: The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's Al-Baha branch, has launched an afforestation initiative in Wadi Dharak National Park as part of ongoing efforts to enhance environmental awareness and support the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative aims to encourage community participation in expanding vegetation cover by planting a variety of native seedlings suited to the local desert environment. This effort contributes to increasing green spaces, improving quality of life, and strengthening environmental sustainability across the region.
It also falls within a broader series of environmental programs focused on protecting natural resources, expanding vegetation cover, and promoting public awareness of environmental conservation, in line with sustainable development goals.
