Makkah: In a scene filled with serenity which reflects the place of the Holy Quran in the hearts of Muslims, worshippers and visitors to the Grand Mosque in Makkah were keen to document moments of the 45th King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Holy Quran Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and held at the Grand Mosque. Many people recorded footage of the competition on their mobile phones to share with their families and loved ones in their home countries, giving the competition a vibrant global character and reflecting Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment and great care for the Holy Quran and the people memorizing it.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry provided live streaming to all listening sessions of the competition through its official digital media platforms, enabling audiences inside and outside the Kingdom to follow the events moment by moment and watch the performances of contestants from different countries.
Several visitors praised the high level of organization and the technologies used in the international competition, noting that the giant streaming screens and the live display of the Holy Quran pages helped enhance interaction with the recitations and created a unique spiritual experience within the Grand Mosque.
The competition is one of the oldest and largest Quran competitions in the world. It is organized annually under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with the participation of an elite group of memorizers from around the globe. This year's competition features 179 contestants from 128 countries.
