Mecca: Transportation services at the Grand Mosque recorded more than 522,634 beneficiaries during the first 15 days of Ramadan, marking a season of significant advancements in facilitating movement for Umrah performers and worshippers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has enhanced accessibility by enabling users to reserve carts in advance through the "Unified Transportation" platform. The system allows beneficiaries to select their preferred mode of transport-golf carts, paid manual carts, or free carts-while specifying their destination, date, and time, with the added convenience of electronic payment and technical support.
As part of these improvements, the newly upgraded paid carts served 86,399 users, while electric golf carts recorded 421,144 users. Additionally, 15,091 individuals benefited from the free manual carts, reflecting the ongoing efforts to enhance transportation services within the Grand Mosque.
